How does Authium sync work?

Your vault is encrypted with your master password before it leaves your device using AES-256 encryption. The encrypted blob syncs through our servers, but we never have access to your decryption keys. Only your trusted devices with the correct password can decrypt your vault.

Do premium themes sync across devices?

Yes. Pro and Team subscribers can choose from seven premium theme templates in Settings → Appearance. Your theme and light/dark mode preference sync to your Authium account and restore when you sign in on another device.

What if I lose my master password?

Accepted Answer

We provide recovery codes when you create your account. Store these safely offline. If you lose both your password and recovery codes, we cannot recover your vault due to our zero-knowledge architecture. Team admins can rotate shared vault access through Team Access Codes.

How does the Shared Team Vault work?

Team plan admins publish shared OTP accounts to a team vault encrypted with a Team Access Code. Members pull updates securely from the cloud; every push, pull, and membership change is recorded in audit events. Individual member vaults stay encrypted with their own master passwords.

Can I use Authium on multiple devices and browsers?

Yes. The Free plan keeps your vault local to one device. Pro and Team plans include encrypted sync across unlimited devices. The extension is available for Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Firefox — install on each browser and sign in to sync.

Does Authium work offline?

Absolutely. Your vault is stored locally and OTP codes are generated on-device without an internet connection. When you reconnect, encrypted changes sync automatically if you have a Pro or Team subscription.

Can I import from other authenticator apps?

Yes. Authium supports manual secret entry, QR code scanning from your camera or an open browser tab, and bulk import from compatible export formats. Use Settings → Import to migrate from Google Authenticator, Authy, and other TOTP apps.
